Welcome

Hi there. I’m an aspiring writer who has always loved the fantasy-adventure, swords-and-magic genre, and enjoyed seeing female characters in an active role. I started this website to bring such stories into the world, with the hope of someday being published.

Please see chapter installments for Jagged Coast in the menu at right, and other content in the navigation menu above.

FYI, the images in Jagged Coast, chapters 1 – 9, were commissioned and created by Rod Espinosa, who can be reached at https://rodespinosa.deviantart.com/

  1. Hello: Donald Knowlton here. I hope you are doing well in your pursuit. I posted the first entry on Bryn Donovans WIP yesterday, the Wax and string recall, which is an outtake on my more serious book Wachinga. Your comment on strong women caught my attention and I was directed to this site. I am a retired nuclear engineering tech and have taken up writing. Why I am writing to you. In my works, I have consistently tried to portray strong women. My story world is modern-day America where knights do exist. A large number of them are knights. The main protagonist in my WIP is Lady Knight Sir Grace Wachinga, formally Grace Howard. The almost completed first draft is available online at fictionpress.com under story Wachinga or writer Knowlton. I have been told by my writer’s group, Isle of Wight Writers Group, in Smithfield, Virginia, That I have a very different perspective on strong women than what they would have written. They have encouraged me to continue in my present direction. I came to this site and realized you are well into using ‘computer media’ as a tool, I would like to discuss such matters with you if you are interested.

    • (correction,) A large number of them are Lady knights.

Glad to hear all the progress you’re making :-). However, my savvy of computer tools is limited. I started this site a couple years ago, because the knowledgeable sources – like Writers Digest recommended using a website to get one’s story out into the world and onto the web. I don’t know how to advertise my site and get more exposure on the web, beyond putting updates on my twitter and pinterest pages, and starting a FB page to go with my site. I tell you, one great source of information is Danielle Adams (danigirl17 on WordPress). She is a fountain of information for not only writing, but using web tools like SEO, google, etc.

  2. Sorry:
That long excerpt was intended for Jessie Turner. No harm, please enjoy.

Hi there! I’ve replied to your comment on the Danielle Adams blog, but thought it might be a good idea to also send my message directly to you. Here it is: I would be happy to narrate up to 2500 words at no charge, and you could use it for whatever you like (with no strings attached) as long as I can use the recording for self-promotion. Check out my site for contact info. Cheers
